Questions before you buy

What does the package cover?

33,791 whole Census ZIP Code Tabulation Areas, including D.C. and Puerto Rico. This is not every USPS delivery ZIP. Geography-only rows retain documented missing measurements.

2020-2024
U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey
2025
U.S. Census Bureau, Gazetteer ZIP Code Tabulation Areas
2020
U.S. Census Bureau, county/ZCTA relationships

Whole ZCTAs appear once in the national file. Cross-state relationships are retained; concatenating state exports would duplicate cross-state areas. Every City in the USA is independent and not affiliated with the U.S. Census Bureau.

What's included in the download?

An Excel workbook, one CSV data table and source documentation. Full files and sample files use the same columns. Every file is listed below.

The field dictionary in each release is the authoritative column list.

How does the sample relate to the full package?

Sample rows come from the full release, with the same columns and workbook sheets. Sample documentation describes its scope and selection. The sample is for inspecting the files, not a representative statistical sample.

How should I read the numbers?

Missing values are recorded, never set to zero. Income estimates retain published margins of error and bounds. Age-band medians cannot be added or averaged. The sample is not a representative statistical sample. Read the methodology and source files before comparing estimates.
