Methodology · ACS B19013
Median household income, with ACS uncertainty shown.
The ranking value is ACS table B19013 line 001 estimate, Median household income in the past 12 months, from the 2020-2024 5-Year ACS release. The MOE column is the published ACS 90% margin of error for that estimate.
ACS median household income can be top-coded at $250,001. A displayed value of $250,001 should be read as the Census-published top-coded value, not an exact household income; where Census does not publish a usable MOE for that top-coded median, the MOE cell is blank and the precision column says Top-coded.
Rows are limited to cities with 2024 Census PEP population of at least 5,000 and a non-null ACS median household income estimate. Ranks use standard competition ranking, so exact ties share the same rank.
Do not read this page as a list of wealthiest cities. The data reports median household income only; it does not measure assets, net worth, purchasing power, taxes, household size, or local prices.
